Airport and transportation facility painting in Broward County

We quote painting for airport terminals, parking structures, transit stations and port buildings. This page describes how such a job is run. It is not a list of past work.

An empty airport terminal in Singapore with a polished floor and a glass wall.

Security comes first at an airport. The airport operator's security program decides who may enter which areas and how tools and materials are screened, and federal rules require a fingerprint-based background check for unescorted access to secured areas, with identification worn at all times or an escort. Those requirements are set by the operator, and the time they take to arrange belongs in the schedule from the start.

Most public areas cannot close during the day. Work in concourses, gate areas and baggage halls is usually phased in small zones, often at night, with barriers that keep passengers clear and odors controlled. Work near airside areas follows the operator's rules for equipment, debris and movement.

The surfaces are the same as any large public building: walls, columns, ceilings, railings, structural steel and parking decks. What changes is the planning around them. Send the scope and the bid documents, and we will tell you how we would run the work.

Order of work

  1. Review the bid documents, security rules and phasing limits.
  2. Arrange identification, escorts and material screening with the operator.
  3. Agree work zones and night or off-peak windows.
  4. Set barriers and protection for each zone.
  5. Prepare and coat surfaces zone by zone.
  6. Inspect and release each zone back to operations.

Where it goes wrong

What usually goes wrong, and how we control it

Badges that are not ready

Workers without the required identification cannot start. Badging and escort needs are part of the plan, and nobody is scheduled for an area they are not cleared for.

Short night windows

A few hours between the last and first flights leave little room. Each shift has a defined area, and set-up and clean-up are planned inside the window.

Debris and loose material

Loose material near aircraft areas is a hazard. Materials are secured, waste is removed every shift, and work areas are checked before they are released.

The limits

Security rules, badging criteria and work windows are set by the airport or port operator, not by Romco. We quote the work; we do not operate transportation facilities.

Questions

About airport and transportation facility painting

Have you painted an airport?

This site does not list past projects. We quote airport and transportation work and explain how we would run it: badging, escorts, night windows and phasing.

Can painting happen while the terminal is open?

Yes, in phased zones, often at night, with barriers and odor control so passengers keep moving around the work.

What does commercial painting cost?

Every job is quoted from a walk of the building, or from photos and drawings when they show enough. The number depends on the surfaces and their condition, how much prep and repair they need, the coating system, the access each elevation needs, whether people stay inside during the work, and what approvals come first. We do not publish rates, because two buildings that look alike rarely are.

What size of painting job will you take on?

Any size. We quote one tenant suite, a single stairwell or a storefront, and we quote a full tower exterior, a warehouse park or an airport concourse. Tell us the building and the surfaces, and we will scope the job as described.

Is Romco Builders licensed?

Yes. Romco Builders is a licensed Florida general contractor, headquartered in Fort Lauderdale. License details come with a quote on request.

How a job runs

Six steps, in this order

  1. Send the address and the surfaces

Call, or use the quote form with photos or drawings. Tell us what gets painted, who is inside, and any deadline.

  2. We walk the building

We look at the surfaces and their condition, the access each elevation needs, and what has to stay protected.

  3. Written scope and quote

The quote names the prep, the coating system, the access method, the phasing and what depends on approvals.

  4. Approvals and permits

Color or board approval, any city permit the work triggers, and access or security clearances are settled first.

  5. Prep and coating

Washing, repairs, primer and finish coats follow the agreed sequence, with areas below protected while work is overhead.

  6. Punch list and turnover

We walk the finished work with you, close the punch list, and hand over the coating record for the building file.
